Welcoming UCEC’s new Vice-Chairs

New Vice-Chairs: Cindy Rampersaud & Sir Michael Wilshaw

UCEC is delighted to announce the appointment of our two new Vice-Chairs: Cindy Rampersaud and Sir Michael Wilshaw.  

As an executive leader, Cindy has over 25 years’ experience in global and UK-based organisations within the education, media and third sectors, most recently at Pearson Plc, where she led the transformation of the BTEC & Apprenticeships division, implementing a strategy responding to the increased demand for career focused education, lifelong learning, and digital solutions. Cindy also holds a number of board roles across a range of sectors. She is a Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit & Risk Committee at Sage Housing, a board member and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at The London Film School and a member of the Board of Trustees at Speakers Trust.

Sir Michael Wilshaw served as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills from 2012 to 2016. Sir Michael Wilshaw served as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills from 2012 to 2016. Prior to his position at Ofsted, Sir Michael had a distinguished career as a teacher for 43 years – 26 of these as a head teacher in London secondary schools. In 2000, whilst head teacher for St Bonaventure’s Catholic School, he was knighted for services to education.
