We are pleased to share news of a significant visit to Henan Province, China, which marks an important step forward in our commitment to building meaningful international academic partnerships.
UCEC CEO Professor Neil Carmichael, recently travelled to Zhengzhou for a week of meetings, university visits, and formal agreement signings – a visit that signals a strong and continuing relationship between UCEC and some of China’s leading higher education institutions.
During the visit, Neil met with senior representatives from three prestigious universities: Henan University, Zhengzhou University, and Henan University of Chinese Medicine. These meetings provided an opportunity to explore areas of shared interest and lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
A key milestone of the trip was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Henan Education Department – a formal commitment that reflects the depth of the relationship being built and the ambitions both parties share for the road ahead.

The visit was also strengthened by the participation of Professor Volker Wedekind, Head of the School of Education at the University of Nottingham – a valued partner whose involvement underscores the academic credibility and collaborative spirit at the heart of this work.
